Client receives £60,000 following a fall from a ladder at work

Yorkshire’s Injury Lawyers recently acted for a client who had fallen from a ladder whilst attempting to clear guttering attached to the roof of a house.

The ground upon which the ladder needed to be erected was uneven and ladders should only ever be used on level ground.

Whilst attempting to carry out the job the ladder wobbled and our client fell from the ladder fracturing his pelvis and tearing his ankle ligaments which both required extensive surgery as a result.

The correct equipment for the job would have been scaffolding or tower scaffolding and the necessary training to use them.  However, as is often the case, the client's employer decided to cut corners and pressured our client to use the ladder.

Our solicitors were instructed to seek compensation for and we were successful in both establishing the employer's negligence and the securing of compensation of over £60,000.00 for all aspects of his claim.
