Barman Receives £11,000.00 Compensation After Being Struck in the Face by a Glass

Yorkshire's Injury Lawyers acted for a barman on a no-win, no-fee basis and successfully obtained compensation for him for injuries sustained whilst at work. In his part time job as a barman our client  attempted to diffuse a situation in a public house involving a group of people who were causing a nuisance. As our client attempted to move the group outside a member from the group threw a glass which struck our client in  the mouth. As a result of this our client suffered extensive damage to his mouth and teeth. A claim was brought against our client’s employers on the basis that he had not been trained properly to deal with this type of situation and there were insufficient members of staff on duty on the evening in question.

Liability was denied by the employers insurers and court proceedings were issued.  The employers continued to deny liability and the matter went to a trial.  At trial the Judge found in our client’s favour and he was awarded the sum of £11,000.00 damages.
