Claimant Receives £5,500.00 after Injuring Shoulder in Accident at Work

Yorkshire's Injury Lawyers were instructed by the Claimant in 2014 in respect of an accident at work. The Claimant was lifting heavy items at work and sustained a shoulder injury as a consequence of which the Claimant had to give up her job and seek alternative employment.

The Claimant had received no proper manual handling training nor any risk assessment carried out.

Yorkshire's Injury Lawyers took up the claim with the Defendant's insurers who were not prepared to admit liability.

A medical report was obtained and proceedings were issued and served on the Defendants.  The Defendant insurers continued to maintain a denial of liability until approximately 4 weeks before trial when the Defendant insurer indicated that they wished to settle the matter.  After a brief period of negotiations a settlement was agreed whereby the Claimant received £5,500.00 in damages for her injuries and other losses.

Throughout the claim Yorkshire's Injury Lawyers had advised the Claimant that she had good prospects of success notwithstanding the denial of liability maintained by the Defendants until just prior to trial when the Defendants finally conceded liability and the claim was settled.
